 Midwest Zone Junior Tennis League & Challenge Tennis Events

Junior Tennis League

Term 1 2017 wil see the return of the Junior Tennis League. This is a great opportunity for junior players to get involved in some pointplay/matchplay and to practice what they have been working on during their coaching sessions. The junior tennis leagues will commence on Wednesday 22nd February 2017 and will run on a weekly basis for 6 weeks. The tennis league will be held at Spalding Park Tennis Club, 4.45-6.15pm. After the 6 weeks have been completed, the top two teams will play against each other in a GRAND FINAL with trophies for the winning team.

All matchplay sessions will be supervised by head coach Colin Thompson, who will be on hand to guide players, assist with scoring formats and give tactical insights into the game.

The cost of entry is as follows:

- Members (of ANY Midwest Zone tennis club): $40

- Non members: $50

Challenge Tennis Events

The Challenge Tennis Events are designed to complement the Tennis Hot Shots weekly coaching and/or competition program. They are held at Geraldton Tennis Club, dates to be announced.

Challenge Events provide players with a first tournament experience in a positive, friendly club environment.  They are a great way for players to learn how to play matches and obtain that valuable match practice. Elite players should use these Challenge Events as they are ideal for match play and important for Regional Team selections. 

The event runs for 2-4 hours using a competition format that involves all participants for the entire duration.Children have the opportunity to receive special prizes.

Beginners to Advanced Players Modified / Hot Shots events for those players that cannot serve, rally or score ( 1st player to 21 points instead of playing sets) \

The tennis club canteen and kitchen facilities are available during the Challenege Events.

  3. Recovery techniques following matches
  4. Match charting
  5. Player networking with other state and regional players
  6. Training with new players (Perth players)
  7. Playing the Tournament at one of the Premiere Tennis Clubs in Perth - Raebold Tennis Club
  8. Chance for players to imporive and or obtain an Australia National Junior Tennis Ranking
  9. Social functions and or team building excersizes
